Ruins of Panam city
Weaving village
On this one-day tour, you will experience the city of Sonargaon ( the name means Golden Village). Here you can find a few dozen aging Rajbari, built by Hindu zamindars and businessman about two centuries ago. In 1608 the old capital Mughal was transferred and Dhaka became the new capital. We will visit the famous weaving center of Jamdani Saree, which is the pride of Bengal. Later on you will make a trip on the river Sitalakha, taking in the wonderful riverine beauty of Bengal and its people.
Pick up in the morning from your hotel; we then drive 26 km to Sonargaon Panam City. This was the old capital of Bengal until the 15th century. There you will see the ruins of the capital that once stood so strongly; and was the centre for a good deal of business.
Arrive Sonargaon and walk through the ruins
Visit the Goaldi Mosque from the Sultanate period.
Later on, we visit the weaving village of famous Jamdani Saree. Here you will see methods of weaving and note the lifestyle of people in the village.
We now board an engine powered boat that is chartered just for you to enjoy the cruise and look at the beautiful riversides of Bangladesh. Lunch will be served during the cruise. Also visit Mura Para Jamidar Palace.
In the late afternoon drive back to your hotel. End of our tour.
