This trip is designed to show Old Dhaka’s Lifestyle and a few archeological sites from 11th –15th century first. Then we go sightseeing around the Srimangal area. Bangladesh produces the finest quality tea (about 30 million kg of tea comes from here annually) Most of the Tea Gardens are situated in Srimangal, which consists of about 150 individual Tea Estates as well as plantations of lemons, oranges, and pineapples. Srimangal is also the home of three different indigenous communities, the Monipuri, Tripura and Khasia, whom you will visit. We then go on to the Lawacharra Rain Forest to see birds and wildlife. It is evident that this journey of four days will keep you very busy and ‘on the go’.
On arrival at Dhaka International airport meet & greet with our guide and transfer to your hotel. Check in and refresh, then begin your journey with Old Dhaka Sightseeing. This will include the bustling streets by the waterfront, Sadargath, the Pink Palace, the Red Fort, Dhaka University campus and a walk through the alleys & narrow streets of Old Dhaka. In the evening we drive back to your hotel for dinner & overnight stay in Dhaka.
After breakfast your journey to Tea Heaven starts with a drive to Srimangal, taking about four hours. On the way we visit a Rice mill to see the process of manufacture. On arrival in Srimangal, check in to the hotel /resort. After lunch take a bicycle ride through the tea gardens and get some awesome photos of the women who pluck the tea leaves. We will visit their village to spend some time with them and, by interacting, learn about their daily life. In the late afternoon you can relax and enjoy the famous Seven Layer tea. Then return to your hotel/resort for dinner and overnight stay in Srimangal.
At around 7.0am this morning take a five minute drive to Lawacherra rain forest (the one and only in Bangladesh) Keep your eyes open to spot hoollok Gibbons, Langur Monkeys, and several species of birds and other wild life. Then trek down to the Khasia Ethnic village inside the forest to learn about their daily style od life. Later return to your hotel to have breakfast and to check out. Next we willvisit the Monipuri people’s weaving village, and learn to weave with them. After lunch start for Dhaka. On arrival in the early evening check in to your hotel. Dinner & Overnight accommodation in Dhaka.
After breakfast transfer to airport to catch the flight for your next destination. End of our service.
